JOSEPH EMERLING
I am classicly trained in animation and digital compositing with a fine arts BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology (2001). Upon graduation, I spent two summers as an instructor for digital video and photography classes at Cavendish College in London, UK. In 2002, I relocated to the Los Angeles area and have been working as a freelance motion graphics designer, effects supervisor, and producer on various independent and commercial films, trailers, specs, and marketing campaigns. With a solid understanding of the special needs and technologies required of motion design and visual effects, as well as continuous hands on experience, I am currently focusing my strengths on that of producer, with over three years of experience in this capacity.
BIONIC REEF LLC
In additon to being available as a freelance contractor, I also maintain Bionic Reef LLC, a motion design and vfx production company. Formed in early 2007 to accomodate a 13 episode, entirely greenscreen program for Fox Sports Network, Bionic Reef LLC is capable of handling digital design and effects for small to medium sized projects. With a roster of numerous CG artists, compositors, and animators, as well as a secure relationship with a third party post production and online facility capable of furnishing flexible hardware and software, Bionic Reef LLC is able to accomodate a project that requires a team rather than sole individual to work creatively and efficiently through a pre to post pipeline.
